How do you keep kangaroos out of your property?

To keep kangaroos out of your property, you’ll need a strong and durable exclusion fence designed specifically to handle the pressure and behaviour of thesee animals. Whites rural and Murray offer excelltn product that are well suited for this purpose.
Things to consider include :
(i) Fence Height – Murray feral-exclusion gate – this gate compliments exclusing fencing perfectly. It features a full-length 25NB top bar with a double “I” stay top, making it significantly more durable and visually appealing. The gate is made with 5mm pre-galvanised wire mesh and 350-grade high-tensile 25NB pipe, ensuring it can withstand pressure from kangaroos.
(ii) Mesh specifications – use a tightly woven mesh to prevent small animals from squeezing through. Ensure the bottom of the fence is secured to the ground to stop kangaroos from pushing underneath
(iii) Electric Outriggers – Adding an electric outrigger wire 20-60cm above the ground can further deter kangaroos from attempting to breach the fence.

How do you keep feral pigs out of my farm?

Feral pigs are strong and can weigh up to 115kg. Your fence needs to be sturdy enough to withstand their foce. The fence should be at least 1.5m high to prevent pigs from jumping over. Additionally, bury the fence at least 30cm underground to stop them from digging under. Use high tensile wire or heavy duty mesh. Netting fences combined with electric wires are particularly effective. Regularly check and maintain the fence to ensure there are no breaches. Vegetation control around the fence line is also crucial.
