Continuously developing better fencing ideas proven to work on the farm, Whites has pioneered a number of original ideas like Ute Pack designed to get the job done with a minimum of fuss.
Australian owned and operated, Whites is a family business with its roots strongly embedded in steel, wire and fencing products since 1977. Today, Whites Rural takes up the mantle as Whites’ specialist rural arm signifying a deeper, long-term commitment to the needs of rural Australia.

Not to be outdone, our fully hot dipped galvanised post is coated to meet the requirements of the Australian Standard AS4680. A high strength, high performance galvanised post offering savings compared to other posts at the premium end of the market.
TIMELINE
1972
Jack White invested in a tie wire business based out of St Peters, Sydney, to form Whites Wires
1977
John Kelly and John Everett took over the operation and moved to new premises in Granville, Sydney, with a team of four.

1985
Business flourished and soon Whites Wires outgrew it’s premises, needing to move to a new site in Silverwater, NSW to keep up with national demand.

1989
John Kelly ventured overseas to scope further opportunities.
1992
Continued growth saw the business extend its operation off-shore producing bird netting and reinforced wire belt packs and later into other key product lines as well.
1995
Its WA and SA branches opened to meet local market needs
2007
Whites continued to blossom and so with it the Whites team. From a humble four in the 70’s to its 100th employee.
2010
Whites Wires rebranded to Whites Group to reflect its expanding category credentials too.
2012
The Stockpost range launched, and become Whites’ biggest selling product range – hot dip!
2016
Whites Group were inducted into The Family Business Australia Hall of Fame.
2021
The Murray-Albury Australian manufacturing plant opened, focusing on Australian made fencing and gates. Made by locals for locals.
Design Flow Decorative Polymer Specialist were added to the Whites’ portfolio, further expanding its business opportunities.
2022
Jack, the consumer arm of the business, launched to inspire AU and NZ customers to love their outdoors!
