Regional partnership offers prosperous future

SINCE joining forces with Whites Rural in June 2015 in an exclusive partnership, the renowned gate and wire manufacturing business, Frauenfelder, based on the NSW-Victorian border at Albury, has experienced a huge increase in volume production, requiring larger factory premises and more staff. The partnership with Whites has enabled Frauenfelder to invest $4 million in machinery since 2009, eight machines in total, with a 400 percent tonnage increase produced this financial year in comparison to the year before the partnership began.

The partnership with Whites has enabled Frauenfelder to invest $4 million in machinery since 2009, eight machines in total, with a 400 percent tonnage increase produced this financial year in comparison to the year before the partnership began.

General manager of Frauenfelder, Matthew Boniface said the partnership has changed their business dramatically, through Whites extensive distribution network, allowing them to focus on producing quality products that has facilitated a much needed market for customised fencing products.

“Since our expansion in the last 12 months, we’ve grown and have the capabilities to produce some of the products that were previously being imported, such as recoiled plain wire,” said Matthew.

“Our building has expanded by 60pc and we’ve bought the block next door, where we’ll build a warehouse for stocking finished products and delivering dispatch.”

The company have increased their staff numbers from 11 to 30 and plan to employ another five in the coming months to keep up with their orders.

“The partnership has been mutually beneficial, enabling flexibility and building systems between each business to share information, thus making processes more efficient,” said Matthew. Frauenfelder

Frauenfelder manufacture a range of premium, value-for-money wire fencing products exclusively for Whites Rural such as Stiff Stay fabricated fencing, galvanised fence wire, barbed wire and hinged joint fencing to name a few.

“Stiff Stay wire is a real success story – it has gone bananas,” said Matthew. The pre-fabricated fencing alternative comes in all different configurations and is seeding throughout the market into new, such as exclusion fencing.

With the flexibility to adjust according to regional requirements, places as far as Tasmania are ordering Stiff Stay wire for feral fencing.

“There are now customers wanting 11 line wires instead of 13 or a particular height fence that older machines couldn’t previously build.”

These sorts of requests are opening new markets, providing the Whites-Frauenfelder partnership with a key point of difference to their competitors who may not have the ability to service customers to such lengths. “Everyone’s finding their niche and we’re looking to create more product lines.”
